CMU Cross Country Ski Team Recognized by University Leadership for Standout Season

The Colorado Mesa University Cross Country Ski Team was honored by CMU President John Marshall, the Board of Trustees, and Athletic Director Joan McDermott for its outstanding achievements during the 2024–25 season.

From just two athletes three seasons ago to becoming a nationally recognized collegiate team, CMU Ski has continued its remarkable rise. Based in Grand Junction—well outside traditional winter sport strongholds—the team has proven that grit, spirit, and collaboration can go the distance.

Competing in the USCSA (U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association), the national collegiate league just below NCAA, CMU Ski offers a rare opportunity for high school skiers to continue racing at a high level. With strong institutional support, the team has become a standout example of how club sports can thrive and compete nationally.
