Biography
Ellayna Potter is a second-year student at Colorado Mesa University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management and a professional certificate in land and energy management. She originally chose CMU to compete on the triathlon team, but the university’s positive culture and access to the outdoors made it a place she wanted to stay. Nearby Grand Mesa remains one of her favorite places to ski.
Originally from Colorado’s Front Range, Ellayna began skiing at age 11 and was part of the region’s first high school Nordic ski team. Finding creative ways to train deepened her appreciation for opportunities to explore new venues and introduce others to the sport. Along the way, skiing has brought her lasting friendships, meaningful relationships with coaches, and a stronger understanding of herself.
Ellayna values the family-like atmosphere of the CMU Cross Country Ski Team and its shared enthusiasm for training, racing, and adventure. This season, she aims to reach the podium at USCSA conference races, race with confidence, and fully embrace the joy of competition.
