Ruthie Richardson is a senior at Colorado Mesa University majoring in CMDB, with plans to attend PA school after graduation. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, she started skiing at age seven for fun and didn’t expect it to become part of her college experience, but quickly found her way onto the team and made it her home.
Ruthie brings a fun, energetic personality to the group and enjoys running, biking, and even unicycling. She chose CMU for its outdoor opportunities and has embraced everything the Grand Valley offers. Outside of training, she loves art, music, dogs, and sharks, and values the team as a true family away from home.
At the 2026 USCSA National Championships in Lake Placid, Ruthie delivered a strong and steady performance across the week, competing confidently in deep national fields. She was consistently in the mix, including a solid top-20 finish in the classic race, and contributed important points to the team’s overall results. What stood out most was her reliability and composure: racing smart, handling challenging conditions, and showing up in every event. Ruthie continues to be a key part of the team’s success at the national level.
